Hitachi Europe Ltd.'s Digital Media Group (DMG) is launching a new family of Short Throw projectors set to revolutionise the market through cutting-edge innovation. Following on from the hugely successful Ultra Short Throw projectors, which currently dominate their market¹ with over 85% market share in EMEA, the new range is aiming to emulate this success by offering products that meet every need.

The family of direct throw and mirrored LCD projectors cover the complete range of short throw distances and enables DMG to offer competitive products across every price bracket, delivering a projector range that is ideal for both educational and corporate environments. The Hitachi CP-AW100N mirrored short throw projector, for example, can be positioned as close as 59cm from the screen and still achieve a 60-inch (152cm) image. This means it can be used in a variety of spaces, including small meeting rooms, interactive whiteboards, simulators and window displays.

The entire family offers a suite of great features including brightness of up to 2,000 ANSI lumens, widescreen and network capability and long-life parts to reduce the total cost of ownership as well as environmental impact. With this in mind we have created a campaign with the theme: ‘Hitachi. Experts in short throw projectors’ as an expression of our position as market leaders through dedication to the Hitachi philosophy of “pioneering spirit”. A pan-European roadshow recently took place in seven local markets to launch and demonstrate this new product range to key customers.

¹ claim is based on PMA and Futuresource 2009 data showing Hitachi EMEA market share in Ultra Short Throw up until and including 2009Q3 was 77.2%
