CSR in Europe

Hitachi in Europe: Advancing Gender Diversity

Hitachi's Group Companies across Europe are committed to collectively becoming more diverse and inclusive organisations. As part of ongoing activities, in November 2013 over 40 women from across the Hitachi's European markets convened to discuss the issues and how to address them.

Enterprise 2020 – addressing demographic change in Europe

Rapidly decreasing numbers of men of working age, and an aging population, mean that European businesses and economies face the possibility of a decreasing recruitment pool in the future. This represents a huge social issue for Europe.

As part of the Enterprise 2020 initiative from CSR Europe, Hitachi is working with Vodafone, Randstad, SAP, Evonik Industries and BASF in a collaborative venture to tackle the effects of demographic change in Europe.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Hitachi is proud to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, developed to track the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.

United Nations Global Compact

Hitachi is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact and is committed to its Ten Principles, based on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
