Touch panel technologies for industrial applications

Maidenhead (UK), 14 February 2011 — As part of the electronic displays conference, at the forthcoming Embedded World trade fair in Nuremburg, Germany, Hitachi Display Products Group (DPG) will be presenting a technical paper outlining touch-panel technologies and their suitability for industrial display applications. Graphical user interfaces are already present in many industrial applications and the consideration and understanding of how touch-panel technology can be used to enhance and improve the user interface and resulting user experience has now become essential. Many consumer electronics products now utilise state of the art touch-panel technology and the Hitachi DPG paper will discuss the migration and capability of these and other touch technologies to industrial products and applications.

The electronic displays conference is Europe's largest conference forum on electronic displays and applications and takes place on March 2nd to 3rd at the Exhibition centre Nuremburg, Germany. Martin Bischoff, Hitachi DPG Technical Manager, will be presenting the Hitachi DPG touch-panel technology paper.

Hitachi DPG will also be represented at the Embedded World exhibition by local distributors Data Modul, Glyn and MSC. The three day exhibition represents an opportunity to view the latest market leading Hitachi display solutions and TFT display modules: a range of high performance TFT modules featuring optical glass bonding and high brightness LED backlights will be on show. These enhanced Hitachi display solutions are specifically aimed at designers and engineers developing embedded systems and applications within the process control, point of sale, industrial, marine and digital signage markets.
