Hitachi's reseach facitilies in Europe

The European R&D Centre (ERD) of Hitachi Europe Limited was established in April 1989, leading its research and development activities in Europe. Now it is focusing in the following areas:

  • nanoelectronics
  • social infrastructure technology (transportation and energy)
  • information technology

ERD has long recognised the necessity of working with complementary partners in Europe to create revolutionary concepts and technologies to keep abreast with the increasing changes of technology. ERD are proud to offer such a working environment for their talented staff.

Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory was established collaborating with the Microelectronics Research Centre of Cambridge University.

2005
Automotive R&D Laboratory (ADL) was established.

HSAL was renamed as ICT Laboratory.
