Hitachi to Host First Social Innovation Forum in Milan On Wednesday 18th October 2017 at Pirelli HangarBicocca London, October 4th, 2017 --- Hitachi Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE:6501), today announced that it is hosting its first Social Innovation Forum in Milan at Pirelli HangarBicocca on Wednesday 18th October 2017. The event, which forms the Italian leg of its global series of Social Innovation Forums, will discuss ideas with customers and partners to help solve societal challenges in Italy, and demonstrate Hitachi’s wide range of technologies.

The Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2017 MILAN will focus on Hitachi ’s continued engagement with its Italian partners to broaden its range of IoT driven Social Innovation Business in the Italian market. Over 300 industry leaders, professionals, government officials and academics will attend to explore the key themes and oppor tunities presented by ‘co-creation’ and IoT in developing new solutions to the business challenges faced today.

The Forum will comprise of two main sessions. The morning session will focus on the growth opportunities for Hitachi in Italy, including keynote speeches from Toshiaki Higashihara, President and CEO, Hitachi, Ltd.; Valerio De Molli, Managing Partner and CEO, The European House – Ambrosetti; and Gerd Leonard, renowned Futurologist. The afternoon session will include panel discussions with contributions from companies such as Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Italian National Research Council, Vodafone Italia, SAP Italia, Google Italy, as well as Alistair Dormer, Senior Vice President and Executive Officer, CEO of the Railway Systems Business Unit, Hitachi, Ltd.; and Hicham Abdessamad, Deputy General Manager, Social Innovation Business Division, Hitachi, Ltd.

A separate exhibition will give guests the opportunity to explore Hitachi’s latest technology solutions including its humanoid robot, EMIEW3. For the first time in Europe , there will be an area dedicated to sustainability, demonstrating how Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business is contributing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
