Hitachi Launches the Work Progress Visualization Support System and the Work Improvement Support System in High-Mix Low-Volume Manufacturing Plants as Solution Cores for the IoT Platform “Lumada”

Tokyo, May 31, 2017 --- Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE:6501, “Hitachi”) today announced that the company will launch the progress and operation monitoring system and the work improvement support system, which supports the early improvement of high-priority bottleneck work, which visualizes the work progress at manufacturing sites on a real-time basis using IoT*1, starting from July 2017. These systems are solution cores for the IoT platform “Lumada” for industrial fields, and enable reduction in production lead time in a high-mix low-volume manufacturing plants.  

Latest Wylfa Newydd power station plans published for consultation

Hitachi Announces Recognizing Extraordinary Loss on Unconsolidated Basis

Tokyo, May 12, 2017 --- Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE:6501) today announced that it posted impairment loss on affiliated companies’ common stock of 187.8 billion yen for shares whose fair value decreased as extraordinary loss on unconsolidated basis for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017. The major factor is related to the exit from the commercial development of a laser-based uranium enrichment technology by GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Holdings LLC, in which Hitachi America, Ltd., Hitachi’s consolidated subsidiary owns a part of shares.

(TSE:6501; “Hitachi”) today announced that Bradken Limited (Chairman: Phillip Arnall, “Bradken”) has become a consolidated sub-subsidiary of Hitachi and a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (President and Chief Executive Officer: Kotaro Hirano; “Hitachi Construction Machinery”), which is a consolidated subsidiary of Hitachi, on March 20, 2017 as a result of Bradken shareholders’ acceptance of the takeover offer for Bradken in Australia (the “Takeover Offer”). 

Hitachi Enters the Lift Market in Europe with acquisition of UK-based Temple Lifts

London, 27th April, 2017 --- Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501, “Hitachi”) today announced it has entered the elevator market in Europe with the acquisition of Temple Lifts Ltd. (“Temple”), the UK-based company which manages the sales, installation, maintenance and repair of lifts in the UK. Hitachi will expand its elevator business into the UK by using Temple’s sales channel, knowledge and existing high quality technology in lift maintenance, adding Hitachi’s highly efficient products.
