The Transportation, Energy and Environment Laboratory (TEEL) was established in April 2011 and has offices in Germany and UK. TEEL evolved from the Automotive R&D Laboratory (ADL), which was originally founded in October 2005 as an automotive R&D laboratory.
TEEL focuses on the fields of train and automotive transportation, as well as the energy sector. Both domains can hardly be studied independent of each other, and of their implications on and from the environment. TEEL's train activities are based in London, UK, while its automotive activities are in Munich, Germany.
TEEL's mission is to support our automotive, train and energy businesses in Europe and world-wide by utilising state-of-the-art technologies through joint research projects with universities and consortia, as well as contributing EU advanced technology to Hitachi's R&D network.
