Hitachi is the founding sponsor of the Economist Infrastructure Summit; a gathering of 150 leading policy-makers, business leaders and experts from transport, energy and digital communications in the UK to discuss infrastructure developments and new opportunities.
The Summit focused discussions on four main themes: economic issues, policy, technology and funding opportunities. Hitachi sponsored a discussion about the development of smart cities and the need for a collaborative balancing act of various stakeholders. It examined the political, economical, social and environmental implications/benefits of building smart cities, and the technologies that will have the biggest impact on building them.
