The future of the city is smart and shareable – that was the overwhelming consensus from Urban Infrastructure 2014 conference. Hitachi's Chief Executive for Europe, Mr. Dieter Rennert delivered the main keynote, explaining Hitachi's approach to Social Innovation Business. This was followed by two panel discussions on Smart Water Solutions and Intelligent Infrastructures. The lively debates ranged from the integration of ICT in urban infrastructure and Social Innovation to City Infrastructures, Smart Grids, Low-Emission Urban Transportation, Smart Water Networks and Healthcare, Big Data and Biometrics Solutions.

The Summit took place on 13th November at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square. 150 authorities in urban planning, infrastructure, housing, construction, transport, energy and architecture gathered for a day of insight, debate and action.
