(TSE:6501) today announced that it has agreed to collaborate with Johnson Controls, Inc. in the field of Building Solutions to help the two companies’ customers achieve their goals in enterprise sustainability, the efficient use of energy, water, human and other resources and the application of building and information technologies in data acquisition, analysis and decision-making.

The two organizations will initially focus their joint efforts in several projects planned in the United States of America and Singapore. Through those projects, Hitachi and Johnson Controls will consider, propose and implement the specific solutions to their customers.

Extending the Relationship Hitachi and Johnson Controls already announced to establish a global air conditioning joint venture and have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding for a transaction. Through past discussion, Hitachi and Johnson Control considered each companies as an one of the good partner for a global alliance with the objective of working together on building solutions to deliver value to mutual customers through a variety of Information Technology (IT) related engagements and capabilities.

Specifically, the two organizations are offering customers a single-source solution for assessment, development and the management of projects designed to improve enterprise infrastructure, facility efficiency and resource utilization through the application of converged building and information technologies. The focus is partnering with customers to achieve their goals to sustainably reduce energy, water and other resources in the business process, including human resources, real estate, manufacturing and supply chain optimization. The collaboration will provide facility management and information technology services from a single team, both on premise and cloud-based, including data centers, distributed assets and building technologies for an efficient workplace. Hitachi and Johnson Controls have been principally focused on commercial enterprise customers managing complex production environments, Healthcare Sector marketplace, as well as the Public Sector marketplace including Federal, State and Local Government. The two companies bring subject matter expertise in facility design and management, building and information technology and strategy development to reduce costs and improve enterprise efficiency.

The two organizations expect their collaboration to grow as customers seek to proactively reduce energy, water and other resources in the production process; as real estate developers, facility owners and tenants work to make buildings more energy efficient, comfortable and safe; and as building technologies and information technologies increasingly converge towards smart environments that better support the way people live, work and play.
