(TSE:6501 “Hitachi”) today announced that it is planning to issue the unsecured straight bonds (the “Bonds”). Hitachi will offer the Bonds in order to provide for repayment of debt, and others. An outline of the Bonds is as follows;

1. Type of securities Unsecured Straight Bonds 2. Issue amount * Up to 60 billion yen 3. Maturity date * Within 15 years from issue date 4. Issue date On or after December, 2013 5. Type of offering Public Offering in Japan (planned) 6. Use of proceeds Repayment of debt, others *Hitachi is planning to issue the Bonds which amount is up to 60 billion yen and maturity date is up to three tranches (5 years, 10 years and 15 years) depending upon market conditions.

In addition, Hitachi will announce the details of the Bonds, including the issue amount, maturity date, issue date and coupon rate as soon as they are determined.
