(TSE:6501), today announced that Mr Guillaume de Pommereau has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Hitachi Europe. The appointment will be effective from 1 st April 2015.

Mr de Pommereau currently serves as Finance Director at Hitachi Europe and succeeds Mr Sunayama who returns to Japan and has been appointed Board Director and CFO of Hitachi Solutions, Ltd.

Mr de Pommereau’s appointment marks the first time a European employee has held the position of CFO within Hitachi Europe and follows a recent number of executive changes as part of Hitachi’s new “autonomous decentralized global management ” structure.

Before Mr de Pommereau joined Hitachi Europe in 2014, he was European CFO for Takeda Pharmaceuticals Europe Ltd. and held Finance Director positions at Alliance Healthcare (Distribution) Ltd., Newell Rubbermaid Inc. and KPNQwest. Mr de Pommereau has also worked for Dell Inc. and PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. In his new role, he will be responsible for accelerating the evolution of the finance team, transforming the function into a business partner role from an accounting role, in order to support the growth of Hitachi in Europe.

The new management structure in which the current Chief Executive for Europe, Klaus Dieter Rennert becomes Chief Executive for EMEA-CIS, is being implemented from 1st April 2015 in order to accelerate Hitachi’s growth in the global market.

Through its 2015 Mid-term Management Plan, Hitachi has set a goal of achieving an overseas sales ratio of more than 50% by the end of FY2015 (year ending March 31, 2016) while expanding its Social Innovation Business.
